Castle[20]ten Christmas

Christmas this year was celebrated at the Castletons. 

All of Jono's siblings were able to come down and we had so much fun spending time together. 

I wrote a poem about our Christmas activities.

We have reason to celebrate this time of year

A graduation, new homes, loved ones dear

A new kitchen, health and jobs old and new

We came together of thirteen crew

Christmas Eve for Simon was a little bit rough

He split open his lip, but boy was he tough

Don’t forget Miss Janie so quiet and small

We hope someday soon she learns how to crawl

Then there is Powell, aka “Mr Steal Your Girl”

Who could resist those adorable curls?

You watch sports on TV and point at the ball

But you can’t use a smartphone without making a call

Christmas Eve night was at the home of Aunt Lyn

Where the Castletons came together with all of their kin

We ate, talked and acted the Nativity story

And sang of Christ’s birth and all of His glory

Christmas morning came and was full of delight

Santa had come and brought presents in the night

Packages and bags were unwrapped with joy

And the kids were delighted with all of their toys

Mimi could not join us due to her aging condition

But watched Christmas morning through Internet transmission

She loved the chaos and all the action

As she witnessed the unwrapping and saw our reactions

There was another present given that day

The giver left it and then slipped away

On the stairs was found pajamas all filled with poo

Come to find out it was left by lil’ Miss Ru

Lets not forget the real reason we all came together

For on that cold night, the 25^th of December

Wise men and shepherds went to witness Christ’s birth

He was born and fulfilled His mission on earth

A little too close to home.

I tried to go to Vons today at a shopping center by our apartment and there were policemen everywhere and it was taped off. I heard from someone there was a robbery so I decided to look it up on OC Register online. Here's what I found.

Bomb squad disables device at Orange bank

ORANGE — – The bomb squad was called to a bank in Orange after a robber left a possible explosive on Tuesday afternoon, police said. The device was "rendered safe," by the bomb squad, Orange police Sgt. Dan Adams said. Authorities aren't yet certain whether it actually contained any explosive material.

The incident began at the Bank of America branch at 2680 N. Tustin Street about 2:45 p.m., when a man entered the business and asked an employee about opening an account, Adams said.

The employee sat down with the man, who opened a black folder similar to a day planner that contained an object that "looked like a bomb," Adams said. It reportedly contained two cylinder-type objects that looked like dynamite or flares, wiring and an electronic component such as a battery.

"He made some sort of statement that made the employee believe it could be a bomb," Adams said.

The man left the bank on foot after demanding and leaving with a "large" amount of cash, Adams said, leaving the suspicious object behind. It wasn't immediately clear whether he displayed any other weapons during the robbery.

The Orange County Sheriff's bomb squad arrived at the bank just before 4 p.m., Adams said.

The parking lot of the shopping center at Tustin and Lincoln Avenue was closed until 5:45 p.m., as they sent a robot into the bank building to inspect the suspicious object.

Authorities described the man as a man in his 40's, about 5 feet, 5 inches, 190 pounds, who was wearing a green sweatshirt at the time of the robbery.
