Atop my cake. Last Thursday was my Birthday! I definitely felt the love from Jono, friends, family, and some of my favorite places to eat/shop. Thank you World Market, Anthropologie, Borders, and what would have been El Torito if I had not fibbed that my birthday was last October so I could get a free entre when I wanted to go.... :) It was a very fun day and I feel to blessed to be cared so much about from my loved ones.

My day started off my saying goodbye to Jono as he went to work. I got up at 8:15 am to get ready to go over to my parents house to watch my nephew. I got a call from my in-laws right before I left our apartment and they sang me happy birthday. While driving to my parent's I got a text from Jono tell me to text him right when I got to my parent's house. So I did and he texted back "Happy Birthday #1: Look under the driver's seat." So I did and I pulled out a card and a box of hershey's kisses (my favorite!). By 11 am Jaxson was down for his nap and I was watching American Idol on tv with the headphones (I didn't want to wake up Jaxson). I heard loud knocks on the front door and I thought someone had been waiting for a long time knocking and I didn't hear them so I jumbily ran down stairs and opened the door, but no one was there. I looked down and saw tmy Happy Birthday #2, yellow tulips!
My sister got home at 2 pm and I decided to do a little birthday shopping at World Market with my coupon. I had $10 to spend on anything I wanted and there was so much to choose from I had to constrain myself from buying $50 worth of presents. I ended up buying a picture frame that holds a 4x6 picture with a large black border that you can write on with chalk. I thought it would be a fun message board for Jono and I to write cute notes on to each other. Awwwww.......
After that I raced home to get ready for my big dinner date. Jono got home at 6:30 pm from work and we jumped in the car and went to one of my favorite restaurant to eat: Benihana's! Yummmm!! I love eating there, and it was so delicious! We loved the show and the waitresses and waitors sang to me and I got a fourth of a pinnapple to eat (way better than cake or icecream!). By the end of the night we were stuffed and I took a box home with most of my food in it.

By the time we got home we were still too full to eat dessert so I opened my presents. Jono got me a Yoga DVD (Happy Birthday #3) that his cousin recommended, the new Norah Jones CD (Happy Birthday #4), and another birthday card (Happy Birthday #5). Jono's parents got me a cute card with some mula in it--thanks! At the end Jono made me take a picture holding all my presents I got throughout the day because he claimed that I make him do it every time he opens presents. (At first response to this I thought "No I don't!". But after thinking about it I realized he was right and obliged. Hehe.*)

We watched Confessions of a Shopaholic and decided to save dessert for the following night beause we were still too full. So Friday night after Jono got home at 9 pm we toasted with Martinelli's and put a candle on one of my favorite cinnamon rolls (that I wrote about
HERE). Everytime I go to World Market I make the extra 5 minute drive to the Farmer's Market in San Juan to get some :) Seriously, try them.

On Friday night Jono asked me if he would go on a date with him on Saturday. We talked about going out to dinner and watching a movie. Saturday morning we woke up and played tennis and then when we were walking back to our apartment I asked him where he wanted to go for dinner. He said he didn't know but he was in the mood for mexican. I told him I have just the place in mind....for those of you who don't know...El Torito is my all time FAVORITE place to eat. I could seriously eat there every night! So I was super excited to go and wanted to get there as soon as possible. I finally got Jono out the door we drove over and as we looked for a parking spot I could have sworn that I saw my mom's car....interesting. I was looking at Jono as we were walking into the restaurent to see if he would give a hint if something was up. No one was in the front foyer so I went up to the front desk and put our name in. I start looking around the restaurant and see my mom, Steve and LeAnn, and then the rest of my family and some friends. Ballons were tied to the chairs and everyone said Surprise!! I was shocked! It was my family, Jono's parents, the Greens, my VT companion Brittany and my friend Jaime. We sat down and enjoyed a yummy dinner and then went back to my parents house for cake and ice cream while we chatted the night away. It was a very fun night and thank you to all who came and for Claire and Jono who planned it all! I really was surprised!

Me and nephew Connor
The traditional "licking the candles off after pulling them out of the birthday cake". As you can see my sister wanted to help me :)
The surprise video to come!
*I will note that Jono being the photographer was quite an interesting experiene. I felt like the paparazzi was on me. He would say ok let's take a picture. And right when I would look up and before I even had a chance to smile he would snap the picture. He did this like 4 times! Haha, he's so cute!
