spring sunshine

So this past weekend Jono and I spent a fabulous 3 days in sunny California. We left Friday after my classes and drove the next 10 hours to Mission Viejo, CA. Saturday afternoon we went to the Montage in Laguna Beach and explored through the tide pools. It was fun to watch Jono and brother-in-law, Bradford, trying to catch small fish. We saw starfish, sea slugs, sea urchins, small fishies, and hermit crabs. It was nice to get a little sunshine on my ghost-white skin. Even Janiel (mom) commented on how she has never seen me so white....you know when you are in trouble when your mother starts giving you comments on how white you are. We got some icecream afterwards and went back to the house. That night we got the priveledge of talking to our nephew, Simon, on the video phone and he sang to us..."meet me at the crib, yo! It's goin down!" We were excited to be able to see him :)

Sunday morning was Easter and we had a fabulous brunch, went to church and then visited family and friends. (Sorry, no easter egg hunt.) We also got to use the video phone and talk to our neice, Emerson Ruby. We enjoyed her giggles and cuteness. When we got back to the house we watched Dan In Real Life ... dad expecially liked that movie after raising three girls himself. Monday we enjoyed lunch at Pick Up Stix (good chinese place) and started our long drive back to Provo. We decided to stop in Primm, Nevada to ride the Desperado rollercoaster. It was my first time and I must say that first drop was quite a thrill. We also watched magic tricks at the magic store and Jono is convinced he wants to buy the coin trick book...we'll see. So it got to be 11:30 pm at night and we were still an hour away from home...the Dr. Pepper started to lose its affect so we put on some music to help keep us awake. It started with the Sounds, but we needed more...so we put on Hannah Montana. If you only could have seen us desperate for sleep and rocking out to Hannah Mantana, I don't think you would be able to stop laughing. We may not be on the "cool list", but at least we are alive... :D Thanks family for the fun weekend!
