holland tulip festival

It's finally spring! When we moved out here in the late fall, the leaves were just finishing falling off the trees and winter gloom set in. Well, the snow has finally melted and people are coming out of hibernation to venture outside. With the warmer weather and baby's arrival ever immanent, we are starting to venture out and explore the beautiful scenes of Michigan. And boy, does it feel good!

A couple weekends ago we decided to catch the last day of the Holland Tulip Festival. We had heard great things about it and wanted to have a little trip before the baby comes. Unfortunately, it was overcast and a little chilly that day, but we still enjoyed ourselves. We drove around the quaint Dutch town and admired the tulips that lined the streets and filled the gardens of the aged homes. Then we stopped at a nearby park to roam around and enjoy some good 'ol Dutch music played by the local school band. Don't even get me started on the beauty of these tulips. I wanted to pick them all and take them home with me.

On a side note, this kid is getting more difficult to photograph. It's quite the task to get him to smile, or even look, at the camera. Too many other fun things to be doing, I suppose.
