birthday & father's day

This year Jono's birthday and Father's Day happened to fall on the same day, June 16th. My mom, sister and her boys were all here with us. We all went to church that day (my first day back since having Noah) because we had a special Stake Conference and Elder Christofferson visited and spoke. It was a little crazy trying to rangle 4 kids for two hours, but we were all really glad we got to hear an apostle of the Lord speak.

After the boys woke up from their naps we all went on a walk to the Rogue River that flows behind our house. We piled on the bug spray (the mosquitos are ridiculous!) and trekked through the trees and mud, but we finally made it! The river was pretty, but we didn't stay too long because there were too many mosquitos. On our way back to the house Connor requested that we go on a trail that didn't have any bugs.

In the evening Jono opened his cards and birthday presents, his biggest present being a fly fishing rod. I didn't know which one he wanted, so I fashioned a pretend one out of a twig, floss and a gold fish. We also ate a delicious rib and mashed potato dinner and then had chocolate cake.

Happy 31 Jono!
